UNITED STATES—Country singer Mindy McCready, 37, was found dead of a possible suicide last night, Sunday, February 17, 2013.

McCready’s body was reported to have been found on her front porch from a gunshot wound; the porch was the same location where her former boyfriend (David Wilson) had also died of an alleged suicide just weeks prior. She was also reported to have killed her dog.

In 2004 McCready was arrested for prescription drug fraud (OxyContin), was sentenced to three years probation then violated her probation in 2007 for drunk driving. She attempted suicide in July 2005, overdosed in September 2005 and slit her wrists in December 2008. Then six years later, in 2010 McCready was hospitalized for a drug overdose.
Wilson’s death is still an ongoing investigation but McCready was not a suspect in the case. Murder has not been ruled out, however.
