Damage to the Towne House, Lawrenceville

LAWRENCEVILLE—Damage was done to the former Towne House Bar & Grill at about 6:40 a.m. this morning, Sunday, February 17, 2013…and nobody’s really sure why.

According to our sources who were on the scene, a young man sporting a goatee and wearing a tan jacket was observed breaking out the window, then fleeing a couple of blocks west on Walnut when it was apparent the law had been called by those at a business across the way.

Then in an even more bizarre move, the subject ran to a vehicle that wasn’t his (we’re being told it a Patrick O’Neal, who lives above the Towne House), and tried to start it, before getting himself hemmed up by responding Lawrenceville city officer Doodle Seitzinger and being hauled off to jail.

We’ll know in a couple of days who the kid was. In the meantime, we’ve learned that the bar, which has been shut down for a number of months, has been purchased by someone else and will be opening soon.

We’ll post updates as we get them.
