GRAYVILLE—An altercation at what can only be described as a barroom brawl last night (Friday, January 4, 2013) sent a young man to the hospital with multiple stab wounds.
According to eyewitnesses at the scene, one Adam Brown (CORRECTED) was jumped by four others, one of them allegedly one Justin Catlin (CORRECTED), while they were all at Chappy’s in downtown Grayville. Catlin was reportedly stabbed six times; however, exactly who it was that conducted the stabbing is unclear. Nevertheless, Brown is in jail at White County, and Catlin is in the hospital in Evansville (reportedly Deaconess, although that’s not 100 percent confirmed right now). He’s not seriously injured, but was kept overnight for observation, and it’s expected he’ll be released soon.
A second incident occurred last night, and we’re still gathering information on it, but apparently there was a hit-and-run, with someone being run over pretty badly. The report is that this person (a female by the name of “Sis” Sadler, reportedly) is in a coma in an area hospital. She reportedly lives in apartments behind Hucks, and was walking home from one of the bars when she was struck.
