Today marks one year of thug’s death in Olney; jailing of innocent man

OLNEY—We’d like to point out a few facts.

Today, November 20, 2012, marks a year that Olney thug Michael Scott Earp was shot on the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel in Olney.

Nicole & Brandon Jenkins, May 2, 2012, on the way home from Olney.

It marks a year since the arrest of a man who was charged with that crime and later found not guilty of murdering Earp, Brandon Jenkins, as he was indicted by a grand jury on December 14, 2011.

We predicted that there was something VERY wrong with the case, and that facts were being withheld or misrepresented to the grand jury in order for them to return the indictments they did.

We learned between April 26-May 2, 2012, that that’s EXACTLY what happened: Richland County state’s attorney David Hyde (who just was re-elected, by default, as no one ran against him) mislead the grand jury, where no judge sits to mediate and no one from the defense can speak up, and caused 16 people to believe that Jenkins shot Earp in cold blood, when exactly the opposite was true: Earp attacked Jenkins, fought for control of the gun, and managed to shoot himself fatally, becoming another victim of the unrestrained Earp-Trout gang.

Rick Trout’s DOC mug

Flav Earp. Loser.

More facts: the remaining Earps and Trouts (related by the mixing of some real shady characters, such as Rick Trout, who still isn’t off probation for his own killing of someone) have continued to terrify Richland County, and haven’t been punished yet for any of it. Flavius Earp busted out the windows of his exgirlfriend/babymomma just earlier this year, and harassed a witness in the Jenkins case, but nothing was done, and literally, in the windows case. The bunch continue to get a pass. We don’t know why for a certainty. We suspect why: because they’re operatives for Hyde, and help nab enough people to keep those fines and fees coming in to the county. Pathetic way to run a business (the county) if you ask me.

We were in hopes that Jenkins would sue the county, but you know what? He’s too much of a gentleman for that. The American justice system worked in his trial, even though, jurors told us later, they felt extremely intimidated by giving Jenkins the benefit of a piss poor case against him. And while we’re at it, we’d like to mention: the same people who “investigated” the case are the ones who were initially tasked with ‘investigating’ Brandon Jenkins. The horrible job they did that saved Jenkins’ ass is the same horrible job they’ve done that means Ed Hataway is still missing and no one has the slightest idea where he is. There are benefits and drawbacks to all of it; but the people of Olney are paying for this sorry bunch through it all.

We’d like to say that we feel badly for the family of the Earps, but we can’t, because they brought this upon themselves. We’d like to extend our apologies as Richland County residents to Brandon, but we already have, and he’s told us that he bears no hard feelings toward anyone over the matter. That’s what the definition of a gentleman is. Maybe, some day, the Earp-Trout bunch can take a lesson from it.
