SALINE CO.—Formal charges have been filed against Harrisburg notable Rodney Marcum.
Marcum was able to post bond yesterday, Wednesday, 10.31.12, after being held in the Saline County Detention Center since early Monday morning.
Charges filed against Marcum, 36, involved items discovered in his garage at his South Street residence late Sunday night, according to reports on file.
City police are said to have noticed a cardboard barrel of the type that is used to contain dry cleaning chemicals, which had been reported missing from Clarence Rice, who owned Juanita’s Dry Cleaners. The barrel had an item in it that bore information identifying it as Rice’s.
While city police were questioning Marcum about the barrel, they noticed Stihl power tools in the garage, and were able to connect them to some also reported missing.
While Marcum was being taken in for questioning about these items, it was discovered that he had Lortabs on his person, for which he apparently did not have a prescription.
He was subsequently taken in on preliminary theft and drug charges early Monday morning (10.29.12) and held; the next day he was formally charged with a single felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and a single misdemeanor count of Theft encompassing the items.
