GALLATIN CO., Ill.—We learned earlier today that this morning, a young Gallatin County High School girl lost her battle with cancer.
Brittany Richardson died this morning at the age of 17.
She’d been suffering with spindle cell sarcoma, and her classmates, aware of this devastating diagnosis and her fight, produced a video, which we featured in this post in early November, and which went viral shortly thereafter.
All of Gallatin County mourns the loss of Brittany; and to show it, all the local Gallatin County fire departments this evening honored her by holding a parade in each town with lights and sirens.
Rest in peace, Brittany Richardson.
