WHITE CO., Ill.—Illinois State Police say failure to reduce speed created the conditions for an accident this evening in White County.
The two-car crash took place on White County Road 2150 North at White County Road 100 East today (December 19, 2014) at about 6:05 p.m.
According to the preliminary traffic crash investigative details, an unidentified male, as 43 of Springerton, was the driver of a silver 2000 Ford Mustang, which was stopped at a stop sign on White County Road 2150N at the intersection with White County Road 100E, when the driver of a Dodge Caravan, Tasha Lynn Stewart, 24, of Enfield, failed to stop and struck the Ford Mustang in the rear.
Stewart and one passenger in each vehicle (a 23-year-old unidentified male of Enfield in Stewart’s vehicle; a 50-year-old unidentified female of Springerton in the Ford Mustang) were transported from the crash scene by the White County Ambulance Service to area hospitals for injuries sustained in the traffic crash. The male driver of the Ford Mustang was not transported from the crash scene.
ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the White County Ambulance Service and Don’s Bumper to Bumper Towing which removed the Dodge Caravan. The Ford Mustang was able to be driven away from the crash scene.
Tasha Lynn Stewart was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
