U.S. DISTRICT COURT, SOUTHERN DISTRICT, ILLINOIS—A federal grand jury sitting in East St. Louis has indicted Adam B. Hill, 35, of Godfrey, Illinois, for Receipt of Child Pornography, Stephen R. Wigginton, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today. The indictment alleges that between July 1, 2013, and July 1, 2014, Hill knowingly received visual depictions containing child pornography using a facility of interstate commerce.
A trial date has not yet been set. If convicted of Receipt of Child Pornography, Hill faces a jail term of not less than five (5) years up to twenty (20) years, a fine up to $250,000, and a term of supervised release of not less than five (5) years up to life.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by the United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
