LAWRENCE CO.—Heavy contention; State’s attorney race gets heated: The big-ticket item in Lawrence is the state’s attorney’s race. For many, it’s not much of a decision: Fiscal irresponsibility and more lawsuits in the form of Lisa Wade, or fiscal responsibility and some justice brought against some of the serious criminals in Lawrence in the form of Chris Quick. But for some, they’d rather keep the corruption going because they benefit from it. You need to look at who’s supporting who, and figure it out for yourselves…then vote accordingly.
HARRISBURG—Gang/drug-related drive-by shootings continue: The shootings in the Granger Street area of tha ‘burg are increasing and have been going on a lot longer than folks realize. What’s being done about it? Not much.

WHITE CO.—Motions show course murder case is taking; defense motion to suppress ‘confession,’ DNA requested from girlfriend by state: The case of accused murderer Danny K. Coston of Centerville continues through court, with follow up about his girlfriend, Candice Brown, also charged in connection with the case.
HARDIN CO.—Many say best hope for future of law enforcement has been there all along: Who’s running for sheriff in Hardin County? We’ve got an interview with the best candidate.
SALINE CO.—Early morning gunshot victim jailed: Carlos Flowers. He a gewd guy, so sayeth his fans. He’s a FELON and is charged with being in possession of a weapon is what he IS.

JASPER CO.—Islamic-based beliefs look to be tested following charges of counterfeit plate: This is a bizarre story of a guy coming into Newton from Marion County, Ind., who’s part of some concocted “nation,” complete with fake documents. Sharia Law, anyone?

CRAWFORD CO.—Crawford County: State’s attorney, county board issues and referenda: The head line says it all. Except we have a few little tidbits of information about the county board race that we have updated, and you won’t read anywhere else.
JUDICIAL CIRCUITS—VOTE NO TO RETAIN JUDGES: This is our ongoing coverage of the fact that JUDGES DON’T HAVE TO BE RETAINED every six years, and we’ll be expounding on this here at the site before the election. But there are only two judges up for retention in the Second Circuit, the circuit that’s in the largest part of Disclosure‘s coverage area…and those are Chris Weber and Melissa Drew….we’ll give you two guesses as to which one we’re calling for dumping, and the first guess doesn’t count.
