SOUTHERN ILLINOIS—This Saturday, December 6th, the Southern Illinois Roller Girls will be celebrating the end of their 5th year with their annual Season’s Beatings fundraising bout.
This annual event is a celebration of the Roller Girls’ first public bout (or game) and is always a fundraiser for the Southern Illinois AIDS holiday project.
The Southern Illinois Roller Girls (SIRG) traditionally have a mixer scrimmage for this event but they have decided to challenge their new little brother league, The Brigade of Handsome Gentlemen (BHG). This is BHG’s first ever public bout as a team. Following the SIRG vs BHG event, there will be a second co-ed mixer scrimmage.
This fundraising bout will be held at the Pavilion of the City of Marion with doors opening at 5 and the first whistle at 6. Tickets are available at www.soillrollergirls.com and at several local vendors for $8 in advance or can be purchased for $10 at the door. Kids 12 and under always get in for free.
