Mutual aid has been called for and answered by Carrier Mills Fire Department in neighboring Saline County; CMFD has responded by sending a tanker truck.

MARION, Ill.—Our Williamson County correspondent is reporting that a fire is consuming the Blankenship Building in downtown Marion.

The building is located on West Main Street in that town.

She’s on standby collecting information and will be getting it to us as soon as she can.

In the meantime, here’s a shot of what was going on at the building shortly after 8 p.m. this evening.
