JASPER CO., Ill./KNOX CO., Ind.—There’s been a very strange resolution of sorts to a case of a missing woman that was reported here yesterday.
Jewell Streeter was reported missing yesterday and many news outlets carried the information asking for the public to aid in finding the 68-year-old Vincennes resident.
Apparently the family suspected foul play, especially since they knew that the last known whereabouts of Streeter was in Washington, Indiana, north of her home county of Knox, this as of this past Saturday, October 18.
Whether or not they knew—or had a suspicion of—what actually occurred is unknown. However, our sources are telling us that information has come in indicating that Streeter went willingly with a member of the Glezen Revival Center in Glezen, Indiana…which some have described as a “cult.”
Added to this is the piece of information received that Streeter is being “hidden out” at a location in Jasper County, Illinois, which is where she’s reported to be today. She is reported to be safe and unharmed.
In another bizarre twist, however, it’s being reported that the person who secreted her away on Saturday is a former sheriff of one of the counties involved (likely Pike County, Indiana, but we haven’t confirmed that yet.)
From the originators of the story, HometownNewsDaily, comes this quote from the family:
“Jewell was located in Newton, Illinois last night by local authorities. Yes, she was physically safe but her family is yet to have her home or have contact confirming her well being. She has been taken to a home in Illinois by people that her family and friends do not know. Her husband, children, grandchildren and friends are devastated. We ask that individuals whom have contact with her please know she is deeply missed and loved. Please call Indiana law enforcement with any information.”
Police say that due to an investigation, no other details are being released.
