ROSICLARE, Ill. (Hardin County)—A big cat in a small Hardin County town has everyone stirred up.
And authorities are advising that while there have been no official reports, there have been unconfirmed sightings occurring just this week.
Official Hardin County sources have advised Disclosure that they have learned there are folks in Rosiclare stating they’ve seen a BIG cat near the tennis courts in that town.
The officials have noted, however, that no one has called the cat in, to the sheriff’s department, nor to local police. And apparently, the cat was only intent on walking past, not in harming anyone (nor engaging in a game of tennis).
There have been an ever-increasing number of large cat sightings in recent years in downstate Illinois, and authorities have for the most part stopped pooh-poohing them, as it’s apparent that cougars, bobcats, and possibly other types of big kittehs have opted to take up residence in southern Illinois, probably because of the plentiful game here (since more and more people can no longer hunt, thanks to so many people becoming criminals and thus unable to possess weapons or a FOID card, thanks to increasing laws and Orders of Protection).
If a cat wants to stay hidden, Hardin’s the place, what with the National Forest there and riverside wilderness bordering it.
