A man accused of attempting to rob a southern California grocery store apparently cased the joint in the most lazy way possible — on a motorized scooter.
Surveillance video of the Sept. 18 robbery at a Food4Less in Santa Ana, California, allegedly shows the suspect, later identified as Antonio Delgado Juarez tooling around the store on a courtesy scooter for 15 minutes. At some point, the suspect decided to end the joyride. He jumped off the scooter, grabbed the store manager in a chokehold and robbed the supermarket, ABC7.com reports.
“He grabs him really hard and puts him in a chokehold and then places whatever object, we can’t really see in this video, appears to be something next to his throat,” Santa Ana Police Corporal Anthony Bertagna told the station. “The manager believes that he has a weapon and that’s why he does what he’s told.”
