POSEY CO., Ind.—Joelle Lockwood, an Evansville woman missing since early July, has been found alive and well in a location in Posey County.
Lockwood, 30, was last seen walking in an area of Evansville on July 9, and has been the subject of intense searches since that time.
However, it appears that authorities were only looking at the worst possible outcome and were possibly conducting only body searches, not ‘living-person’ searches, as what turned out to be the case with Lockwood.
According to reports coming out of Evansville and the TV station WFIE Channel 14, last night, two arrests were made at a Posey County residence where Lockwood was reported to have been held against her will since early July.
At the undisclosed location, a man happened to be visiting the residents, and somehow was able to get Lockwood away from the two and take her to neighboring Vanderburgh County, where Evansville Police Detectives interviewed her and learned what happened.
The two residents at the Posey County location were taken into authorities last night at an undisclosed time, upon serving a warrant, said warrant service involving the Posey County Sheriff’s Office, Evansville Police Detectives, and the EPD SWAT Team.
Lockwood was reunited with her family, including two young children, last night.,
Posey County will be releasing information on the details of Lockwood’s captivity later today; be watching for updates.
