HARRISBURG—A Harrisburg Schools high school athletic director is causing grief and consternation for his employers after a recent baseball game loss.
According to information we’ve received, about three weeks ago, Jay Thompson (exact age unknown; we’re told he’s in his early 50s), the HHS athletic director and coach, was distressed that he lost a recent game….so distressed that he reportedly had his team take him to the locker room, pull his shirt up over his head, and draw a single word across his back, as depicted below:
But that wasn’t all.
Reports indicate that the students/athletes were then requested—by the coach himself—to “flog” him as “punishment” for losing the big game. We’re still working on specifically what the instruments of flagellation were; when we learn it, we’ll bring it right here.
As far as we know, nothing has been done to Coach Thompson regarding this incident; calls made to the school superintendent have been unreturned as of this time. Any action taken by the board of education will be minimally announced, so we’ll be watching to see if this transpires.
More as we get it; keep checking back.
