HARRISBURG, Ill.—We received word in the middle of the day Wednesday, August 13, that the popular biker bar Poor Boys in Harrisburg shut down at noon.
Our sources advise that word spread very quickly about the situation, and that it is a permanent shutdown.
We don’t know why this has occurred, and are looking into it as you read this.
Poor Boys had been plagued with fights and other incidents of brutality a few years back, a lot of it brought to a screeching halt in early January 2013 when then-mayor Eric Gregg actually kept his word for once and issued an ordinance-violation-based, 7-day shutdown of the bar. Since that time there’s only been limited reports of scuffled occurring at the bar, none of them rising to the level of what happened that prompted the shutdown, or the beating one man took in July of 2011 that got the attention of authorities.
When we learn more, we’ll bring it to you. Check back frequently.
