SALINE CO. (Eldorado), Ill.—Authorities this hour have confirmed that there has been a kidnapping at knifepoint in the city of Eldorado in Saline County.

The situation broke at about 9:30 p.m. this evening (Wednesday, July 23, 2014).

The victim is a 19-year-old female; the crime was reported to Eldorado Police by her grandfather. We don’t have any names as yet.

An alert has been sent out through county and state.

The incident occurred at 1113 (CORRECTED) Beulah Street. No direction of travel has been given, but authorities are looking for a gray Chevy Equinox, Illinois registration.

UPDATE 10:10 p.m.

The plate on the 2005 Equinox came back to a Sonny R. Pilgrim, date of birth February 28, 1991. Authorities DO NOT KNOW if Pilgrim is the driver; that’s just the plate registration.

UPDATE 10:26 p.m.

Our sources in Jackson County (specifically Carbondale) are reporting that at 10:06 p.m., police received a cell phone ping from either the alleged kidnapper or the alleged victim. The ping was located in Marion.
