VINCENNES, Ind.—Authorities at this hour are dealing with a power outage in sections of Vincennes, Indiana, that might have resulted from a car accident, following which a truck is being sought for hit-and-run.
The power outage was reported to have impacted the Knox County Detention Center on the edge of town, which was brief, as generators kicked on within a matter of minutes. For a short time, phones in the facility were also knocked out, according to reports.
There was no location of the hit-and-run reported, The accident is reported to have occurred at Third and Vigo. The vehicle the white Ford truck is said to have struck belonged to a Bridgeport, Illinois, resident.
Authorities were calling for a “be on the lookout” for the white Ford truck, which they believed might have been headed for the Memorial Bridge across the Wabash River at Westport in Lawrence County from downtown Vincennes.
Power outages are being reported on the entire east side of the city of Vincennes, and estimated time of repair is being said to be about two hours.
