(Vincennes, Indiana) Vincennes City Police Detectives made an arrest in connection to the June 29 Sexual Assault investigation.
On June 29th, around 4 a.m., officers responded to the 1000 Block of Sycamore Street where a female reported having been sexually assaulted nearby. The victim implicated a then-unknown couple that she had met at a local tavern, which was Old Town Tavern on Main Street in Vincennes.
During the investigation and information provided by citizen information, the identity of the couple that was of interest in this incident led to the arrest of the male suspect.
Thursday, July 10, Detectives conducted interviews and arrested Mitchel J. Cunningham, 30, of Loogootee.
Cunningham was charged with Rape and Criminal Confinement. He is being held on $25,000 bond pending court appearance.
