MARION, Ill.—An arrest has taken place in the shooting that occurred on Midway Court in Marion last week (July 2).
Arrested over this past weekend (Saturday, July 5) was Quincy D. Walker, 38, of Marion. Walker was picked up at a location in Jackson County Saturday on a warrant for his arrest on Williamson County charges in connection with the incident, which occurred around 10:30 last Wednesday night at 1220 Midway Court in Marion.
Walker is now charged with multiple counts: two of Home Invasion while armed with a firearm, one Aggravated Battery discharging a Firearm, one Aggravated Battery of a Pregnant Woman or Handicapped Person, and one Felon in Possession of a Firearm. In typical vague press information, the charges weren’t made clear in any reports as to whether it’s alleged Quincy shot a pregnant woman OR a handicapped person; however, press information did indicate that one person was shot in the abdomen. Our sources initially provided information that indicated one of two people who were shot was a female. A second victim was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center with “non-life-threatening injuries,” according to press information.
There’s been no indication of the second suspect. Both were described by people at the scene as being black males wearing dark hoodies, who seemed to know exactly where they were going, tracking across residential lawns and moving southbound out of the area on foot after the shooting took place.
Police are still seeking information; call Marion PD at 618-993-2124 if you can provide it.
