After leading police on a chase that ended with an injury wreck, prosecutors said a south suburban man fled the scene and falsely reported that he’d been carjacked.
Paris D. Williams, 24, didn’t obey when a Riverdale officer tried to pull him over early Saturday morning for an illegal lane change, prosecutors said. Instead, authorities said Williams sped through two stop signs and a traffic light before crashing into another vehicle. At least two people in that car were hospitalized and released.
After the wreck at the intersection of 143rd Street and Lowe Avenue, Assistant State’s Attorney Ben Williams said Williams called and reported that he’d been carjacked.
