CLINTON CO., Ill.—The body of a young woman originally from Odin, Illinois, was found on U.S. 50 after a hit-and-run accident, say authorities in Breese, Illinois.
Lana Albert, 23, was last seen alive early Sunday morning (about 2 a.m. June 8) after she left the Big Stix Sports Bar & Grill in Breese, headed on foot to Old U.S. 50 which passes through town. She had been at the bar with several friends, according to police.
A passing motorist saw Albert walking and called authorities, but by the time someone arrived to check out the situation, they found a shoe on the highway…and Albert’s body lying near the roadway. The location of her body was only about 500-600 yards from the bar.
There are thus far no suspects in the incident; police are asking that anyone with information please call Breese authorities at 618-526-7226.
