WHITE CO., Ill.—A Noble man is uninjured after a traffic crash in White County, but the same couldn’t be said for Illinois Route 1 at the scene.
Illinois State Police handled the scene earlier this evening, Thursday, June 5, 2014 (4:10 p.m.)
According to their preliminary traffic crash investigation, Gerald W. Foster, 60, of Noble in Richland County, was traveling northbound on Illinois 1, south of White County Road 2400N, in a 1982 Mack Tow Truck, towing a 1984 International Truck, when the towed vehicle separated from the tow truck and overturned on the roadway. The tow truck is owned by Foster’s Garage of Noble, while the towed vehicle is owned by Westar Energy Corporation of Mt. Carmel.
Schoenheit Truck and Tractor Service of Grayville assisted with the up-righting of the International Truck, which received major damage as the result of the crash and was towed from the scene by Foster’s Garage Towing Service.
Route 1 at the scene of the traffic crash was also damaged. Following the removal of the vehicles, Illinois Department of Transportation workers repaired the roadway.
Foster was cited for Failure to Secure Load and Operating Uninsured.
ISP was assisted at the scene by the White County Sheriff’s Department, Grayville Police Department, IDOT, Little Wabash Fire Protection District, and Schoenheit Truck and Tractor Service.
