Just back from an afternoon at the Second Annual Lusk Creek BBQ Cook Off and the streets were teeming with people from all over.
The smells of food wafting through the small community of Golconda was nothing short of amazing.
If you are on one of those new fangled diet for goodness sake stay away.
OR head on down and treat yourself.
The best thing about falling off the wagon is climbing right back on.
There is a play area for the kids who enjoy those inflatable slide, bouncy things.
And on hand atop the levy is Certified Flight Instructor Brock Watt from Black Diamond Aviation who is down there with his crew and two Robinson 44 helicopters signing folks up for rides that take you over Golconda and out over the Ohio River for a breathtaking view of the Shawnee National Forest.
Today’s events continue until 9 p.m. with helicopter rides lasting until just around sunset, which is the best time to be up in the air if you ask me.
So head on down and check out the great food, gourmet BBQ and live music.
There is even a beer and wine garden for those of age folks seeking adult beverages.
