CLAY CO, Ill.—We’re still awaiting word on exactly what happened, who was involved and what was the extent of the injuries, but a reader has supplied photos of what appears to have been a terrible wreck at Clay City reportedly on U.S. 50.

Witnesses in Clay City report that the accident occurred at about 2:50, and that the collision between a semi and the auto pictured here sounded like a loud explosion.
A helicopter was shortly on-scene and plenty of law enforcement and first responders were working the accident at that time.
