READ THE LEAD: Strange little crimes with plenty of crossover

Of the many articles featured in this month’s edition, several are dedicated to detailing crime, not just corruption.

Why?

Because there ARE very good policing entities in our coverage area and we like telling our readers about them when they do their jobs and do them well.

In South Counties (Saline, Williamson, Gallatin, Hardin), there are good and bad. But we highlight the good when they do it. And this little crim piece we’re giving you a sample of in the midday Read the Lead  exemplifies it. Here’s Off duty deputy witnesses domestic, leads to drug arrest, as an example of how some of our local law enforcement officers show dedication, even when not on the clock.

SALINE CO.— A Hardin County Deputy who also works as a Carrier Mills Police Officer was just getting off duty when he stopped by the Harrisburg McDonald’s and witnessed two people beating on each other.

According to authorities on Saturday, March 29, at 12:17 a.m. Saline County Central Dispatch received a call from Shawn Turner concerning a possible domestic violence situation in the McDonald’s drive thru located on South Commercial Street in Harrisburg.

Turner gave dispatch the license plate number and said that he had observed the two occupants yelling and striking each other.
