Here’s his take on the situation:
I’m a truck driver here in southern Illinois. I am aware of the constant bitching and moaning about the “trouble” truckers cause. Thought y’all might like to see it from our perspective. This was on Hwy 45 north of Eldorado at about 8 am this morning. An asphalt hauler was stopped by a DOT officer and weighed in the middle of the highway in a curve. With no flaggers around anywhere. Is this what we would consider safety?? I’m not running down the ISP, I know that the DOT are just doing their job. But this could have turned out in disaster!!! Just proof it’s not always the truckers fault!!!
We know there has been a lot of criticism in the past as regards truckers/OTR haulers. This different perspective, however, kind of balances that criticism. What do you think…could this have been handled differently?
