WHITE CO., Ill.—An Enfield woman was injured this morning in a single-vehicle car crash on Illinois Route 14.
The crash happened at 10:41 a.m. this morning (Tuesday, April 29) on 14 a quarter-mile east of White County Road 25 East. It involved Ruby Elizabeth Hass, 37, of Enfield, who was driving a 1994 Dodge van and was the only occupant.
Illinois State Police out of District 19 report that Hass, eastbound on 14, lost control of her van and went off the roadway. The vehicle skidded out of control and overturned. The investigation revealed indicators that Hass was intoxicated. Hass was taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind., for treatment of her injuries. Hass was wearing her seatbelt, according to ISP.
ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Hamilton County Sheriff, Enfield Fire Department, Harre Ambulance Service, Air EVAC, and Don’s Bumper to Bumper Towing of Carmi.
Hass was cited with DUI (Drugs/Alcohol), Improper Lane Usage, and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid Accident.
