EDWARDS CO., Ill.—A single-vehicle traffic crash last night has left an Albion man in the hospital, according to Illinois State Police.
The incident occurred on Illinois Route 130, 1/10 of a mile north of Edwards County Road 700E last night (Saturday, April 26, 2014), at approximately 6:55 p.m.
According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, the driver of the 1998 Dodge Dakota, Nathan D. Archer, 35, of Albion, was northbound on Illinois Route 130 at that location when for unknown reasons, he left the east side of the roadway, overcorrected, and eventually left the west side of the road. The vehicle overturned and came to rest in an open field. Archer was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle.
Archer was transported from the crash scene by Air-Evac to an Evansville, Indiana, hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
The vehicle was removed from the scene by Rick’s Towing of Grayville, Illinois.
ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department, Albion Police Department, Grayville Police Department, Edwards County Ambulance Service, Albion Rural Fire Department, Air-Evac, and Rick’s Towing.
Charges are pending.
