WHITE CO., Ill.—The case of Candice Brown was officially put to rest today with her sentencing in her Obstruction conviction.
Brown was charged a few days after the arrest of Danny Coston (for his double murder charges), accused of lying to authorities about Coston’s whereabouts on the night of the murders of Jessica Evans, 17, and Jacob Wheeler, 22. She was found guilty in a two-day jury trial this January.
Brown was sentenced to 30 months probation, 60 days jail, beginning immediately, 100 hours community service, $500 fine plus costs and a $500 anti-crime contribution.
Brown had no prior record and so it was unlikely all along that she’d spend any time in DOC. Authorities believe that she had no part in the shooting deaths of the young couple; locals are not convinced of that.
