Ten children were taken to local hospitals after a waitress served alcohol by mistake Tuesday night during a girl’s birthday party at a Little Village pizzeria, authorities said.
The apparent mix-up happened about 9:40 p.m. at a pizzeria in the 4200 block of West 31st Street.
The children were taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County and Mount Sinai Hospital, Chicago Fire Department Chief Juan Hernandez said.
All were in good-to-fair condition.
Neyante Eggleston, who attended the birthday party with her 6-year-old son, told a reporter at the scene that staff from the pizzeria began removing cups from the table in a hurry without offering an explanation, according to WGN-TV.
