In a country that stretches from sea to shining sea, Americans are often on the move. Americans moving themselves by renting a truck from Penske Truck Rentals moved to these 10 cities the most in 2013. Atlanta ranked as the number one most moved-to city in 2013, Chicago made the list at number eight (they ranked it at number five in 2012) and Las Vegas appeared on the list for the first time at number 10.
“We have seen a continued migration of Penske Truck Rental customers from the Northeast and Midwest parts of the U.S. into these areas,” said Don Mikes, Penske senior vice president of rental on Penske’s website. Other truck rental companies, such as United Vane Lines and U-Haul also compile annual lists. United found that Illinois was the second most moved-out-of state in 2013, while U-Haul found that Chicago was the number two destination for moving in 2012.
CNNMoney added median income, median home price and home price growth forecast information.
Penske explained how they compile their list:
It is procured through an analysis of our one-way consumer truck rental reservations made via PenskeTruckRental.com and through our central reservations call center, 1-800-GO-PENSKE, as well as reservation requests we’ve received for one-way moves.
