A 34-year-old Woodridge man inflicted killing stab wounds on his 3-year-old daughter Friday before taking his own life, police said today.
According to a news release from the police, Robert Bzdek, of the 2700 block of Meadowdale Lane in Woodridge, stabbed his daughter Zuzanna Friday afternoon. Police discovered the two after being called to their home about 4:30 p.m. The news release described the incident as a murder-suicide.
The girl was transported to Edward Hospital and Health Services in Naperville, where she later died in surgery, according to police.
The cause of the man’s death was not in the release.
Police did not release any further information.
The DuPage County Coroner’s office would not release any information about the two deaths.
Ray Davis, who lives two houses down from the home surrounded by police tape, said he was “shocked” when he noticed about a dozen police cars on the normally quiet street around 5:30 p.m. Friday.
