Ever wonder what we were covering on today’s date in the past five years since the site has been active? Well here’s an active guide to assist you!

On this date in 2013, here’s what we covered over the weekend of March 29-30:

James G. Roberts

James G. Roberts

An elderly Eldorado man was charged with a sex offense, and our coverage of the routine matter blossomed into a full-blown online offering after his raging daughter called and threatened to “sue us” (as the clueless are given to do) earlier in the month. We continued the detailed coverage of James G. Roberts in this post, More charges filed against alleged sex offender.

The injury allegedly inflicted upon Lawrence County prosecutor Chris Quick by now-charged deputy Dennis York was outlined in a QUICK REPORT on prosecutor in Lawrence.

Walter Lawson, from Creal Springs in Williamson County, was injured in a Wayne County traffic accident that Illinois State Police worked and we reported in this piece, Williamson County man involved in traffic accident in Wayne.

The death of Roger Solomon was reported out of Elizabethtown in Hardin County in this piece, BODY FOUND IN E-TOWN HOME LAST NIGHT IDENTIFIED BY AUTHORITIES.

Dee Burgin

And the ongoing attitude of public officials toward anyone who dares to try and seek transparency in their doings was carefully illustrated in this piece from our friends the Edgar County Watchdogs (now known as Illinois Leaks) in this article, UNBELIEVABLE: Watchdogs criticize public body, get threatened with lawsuit!

In March of 2012, here were the big stories for the three-day period of March 28-30:

The filth that is the Brittster (Brittany Lane) emerges in this post, WHAT is tha Brittster up to now???

We have a big podcast rounding up about four days’ worth of information since the prior podcast, News & Reviews with Jack & Ang Podcast Episode #12, which includes the murder of Bob Westall in Lawrenceville.

Ed Conkle

Ed Conkle

With the deaths of two prominent Hardin County public officials, Ed Conkle and Sheriff Smokey Cullison, the weird is back in Hardin County with From bad to worse in Hardin County, including Sandbags Conkle refusing to return a public vehicle to the public body to whom it belongs.

Tyler McQueen

The public was stunned to learn that young Tyler McQueen was arrested in connection with the death of Bob Westall; not so much with the arrest of Westall’s niece, Helen Marie, in ARRESTS MADE IN WESTALL MURDER: UPDATE

In the late days of March 2011, here’s what was going on during March 28-30:

The April Consolidated Election 2011 was heating up, and the big talk surrounded mayoral elections, in particular, in Eldorado, in this piece The history of elections in Eldorado, part 1

In Slow post apologies; April paper coming along nicely, we outlined some of the hardships we were going through at the time, which we didn’t write about in full until our idiot neighbors’ bogus OP was done and over with in October of 2012; we also thanked everyone who was behind us in our fight to keep our precious baby Ev right where she needed to be until her mommy Jade came home, which was the plan all along (enjoy the Ev fish-face, which she was perfecting at the time!)

At the end of March 2010, this is what we had in online offerings:

Raymond Martin, from the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro, March 2010

Raymond Martin, from the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro, March 2010

In one of the biggest storylines we’ve ever chronicled here at the site, former Gallatin County sheriff Raymond Martin is in the spotlight again with Gallatin County sheriff has asked for trial to be continued beyond April 12

The mayor of the small town in Lawrence who later went down in flames was also a headliner in late March 2010 with the article Bridgeport’s Mad Max: not exactly the water savior of Lawrence County, chronicling Max Schauf’s screwing around with the water situation in his town and in the process, screwing it up for current water provider Lawrenceville.

And in another VERY big story at the time, we chronicled the end of the situation with Tim Monroe with Monroe gets four years probation on cocaine delivery conviction.

And in late March 2009, right after we’d started the website in its current form, we had a playful piece entitled “Biggie” BUSTED!!?, outlining one of Richland County’s little punkass losers, Seth Hahn and his latest illegal antics.

We hope to make “Looking Back” a regular feature; tell us what you think!
