We’ve received word from family that funeral director Randy Reed—who also used to the be coroner in Saline County—is just fine, and reports of his death in the Harrisburg tornado this morning are incorrect.
Unfortunately, another family is grieving this morning: Those of Randy and Donna Rann, who have both been confirmed as victims in the collapse of the apartment complex where they lived. We bring this up because it’s been confirmed that it was the announcement of the Ranns’ deaths that was what caused people to believe they were hearing “Randy Reed” …how that happened, we don’t know. We’re just reporting what family on both sides are telling us.
It’s our understanding that the responders are now moving into the Country Club section of Harrisburg, where there has been significant damage. We are on 45 behind emergency vehicles/first responders. We have also just seen an ambulance with lights but no sirens going north.
