WILLIAMSON CO., Ill.—A wreck on Illinois Route 166 just south of Pittsburg near Khoury Road in Williamson County had traffic in the area at a standstill for about an hour earlier this evening.
The wreck, which happened about 6:20 p.m., involved a motorcycle, which struck a truck under somewhat strange circumstances. A female passenger in the truck (shown in the photo) said that the motorcycle was “chasing” the truck. She was asked if it was an ex-boyfriend and advised that it was not, but wouldn’t say anything else about it.
The motorcyclist was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Evansville.
Marion police assisted Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and Williamson County fire Department was on the scene. Traffic was rerouted for over an hour; the road is still blocked to Pittsburg at last check, as authorities are waiting for an accident reconstructionist.
