SALINE CO., Ill.—Saline County State’s Attorney has announced another sentencing in Saline County Circuit Court, this of a Carrier Mills woman.
Natalie M. Cannon, 26, of Carrier Mills, pled guilty and was sentenced today (March 26, 2014) by Judge Walden E. Morris to 10 years in DOC, one year mandatory supervised release, and costs. Cannon pled guilty to Unlawful Possession of Weapons by a Felon, a Class 3 felony. Class 3 felonies are normally punishable by a term of 2 to 5 years in DOC and a $25,000 fine. The Harrisburg Police Department led the investigation of Cannon. On January 22, 2014, Harrisburg police officers were dispatched to a residence in Harrisburg in reference to an active meth lab. Officers responded and during a subsequent search, located a switchblade knife in Cannon’s possession along with an active meth lab at the residence.
Cannon was also sentenced to a term of 3 years DOC, one year mandatory supervised release and costs for a violation of probation stemming from a 2012 arrest for Unlawful Possession of Controled Substance, a Class 4 felony. The sentences were ordered to run concurrent with each other.
Assistant State’s Attorney Jason A. Olson led the successful prosecution of Cannon.
