PALESTINE, Ill.—The Palestine police officer arrested this past Wednesday has supposedly been terminated from his position on the police force.
Josh Green, who still faces a charge of Domestic Battery in which it’s alleged that he pushed his most recent girlfriend, Deborah Crist three times during an argument, was let go today after meeting with the mayor of Palestine, Pat Schofield.
Apparently Schofield had “heard” of other indiscretions Green had been involved in, but our sources are advising that those “other” indiscretions—one of them supposedly involving the wife of a city councilman—are evidently rumors started by the ex…who, incidentally, is said to be teaming up with all the exes in an effort to cause ruination to Green.
Green was allowed to go into the home he was sharing with Crist and her five offspring in Palestine and retrieve only a few items of clothing; neighbors had already reported that Crist had vacated the place (apparent by the Uhaul) and returned to Sumner. She had reportedly already destroyed a number of Green’s belongings, including photos of his children.
The opinion that the termination can’t take place on a Sunday—and must be conducted during a meeting of the council on a scheduled meeting for city business—is something that’s being debated.
Disclosure was unable to reach Palestine police chief Jeff Besing for comment.
Green is out on bond and is scheduled for a first appearance April 14.
