WILLIAMSON CO., Ill.—Always on deadline, we field the most ridiculous calls.
And this deadline is no different.
Exemplifying why we don’t have a landline nor make our cell phone numbers available is this caller (click the link in red), who “don’t unnerstan why thain’t bin nuthin in tha paper bout tha gurlz” in the Williamson County circuit clerk’s office situation from last summer.
That’s because thain’t nuthin happenin in eeyut.
This, our dear readers, is an opportunity to give you a lesson in reality. So many ignorant haters out there want to claim we “make everything up” here. I’m using this subject to show you that we make NOTHING up…if we did, this would be a primo opportunity. We could just make up all kinds of shit and post it and rake in the money, right? Because that’s what the motards say we do anyway. Hell, I could be fishing, or rappelling, or flying. And Ang could be hanging out with the babygrands.
But we don’t do that. We produce material like this when it happens. Not a moment before.
The fact is, the discovery of the missing funds at the Williamson County circuit clerk’s office was discovered only last summer. It could take YEARS for the feds to finalize their investigation; we’ve seen it repeatedly. The investigation into former Gallatin County sheriff Raymond Martin‘s antics was begun in 2006 but it wasn’t until 2009 that charges were brought. Granted, we began writing about it in 2006, but that’s because we had someone as a source who was involved in the investigation. People said we were ‘lying’ when we produced the articles featured here. Guess they were wrong about that. Just like the people who claim we’re ‘lying’ about other cases of corruption going on now are.
So, object lesson: Be patient. If you don’t see anything here or in the paper, it’s because NOTHING’S HAPPENING. There’s NOTHING TO REPORT. Be cool…it’ll come about. You’ll see.
