A 49-year-old Centralia man is in custody after allegedly leading Centralia Police on both a vehicle and foot chase early Thursday morning.
Michael Harris of South Franklin is being held for possession of a controlled substance, fleeing and eluding police, driving on a suspended or revoked license and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.
Police say they were able to identify the driver as a person wanted for a drug buy made in front of the Family Dollar store on North Elm Street last week. While they were not immediately able to follow the vehicle, they later located the van near Pine and Second where a traffic stop was attempted.
Instead, the vehicle sped away running through five stop signs on Pine and then at Haussler and Lincoln and Lincoln and Rexford before coming to a stop between Franklin and Lincoln. Harris then allegedly tried to run on foot. He was arrested a short distance away.
