GALLATIN CO., Ill.—The man involved in a fatal truck crash yesterday at the Gallatin/Saline county line has been cited by ISP on various counts in relation to the accident.

Thomas E. Woodworth,  42, of Mounds, Illinois, was cited for Driving with a Cancelled CDL, Failure to Secure a New CDL, and Operating with Loose Fasteners (lug nuts).

ISP made the citations following examination of the accident scene, which occurred after a wheel on Woodworth’s truck came off, struck the trailer of another vehicle being operated by Herschel “June Bug” Rigsby, and caused Rigsby’s rig to burst into flames and subsequently crash into a tree at the side of U.S. Highway 45, just north of Texas City.

Rigsby was pronounced dead at the scene.
