MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Police said Friday that the person responsible for a shooting inside a Memphis mall that left one man wounded is still at large.
According to authorities, four teenagers stopped after the incident late Thursday evening are not suspects in the shooting but face theft and weapon possession charges. The Memphis Police Department said in a news release that it appears the four were at Oak Court Mall with the victim when the shooting occurred.
The 22-year-old male victim was hospitalized and in stable condition Friday, according to police.
Police said Thursday night that officers were told there was a verbal confrontation before the shooting.
CBS affiliate WREG reports that police stopped a Lincoln Town Car near the mall and took four people into custody. Authorities now say those people were actually with the person who was shot and did not take part in the shooting.
