OLNEY, Ill.—Authorities confirmed that a driver was only slightly injured in a single-car accident on North East Street in Olney today (Tuesday, March 4, 2014).
The accident occurred at about 2:40 p.m. At that time, the driver, Jason Jackson of Noble, was southbound on North East when he reached for his girlfriend’s purse, that action causing him to run off the street and strike a power pole. The pole broke, with the front grill of the car pretty much wrapped around the base while the upper portion dangled above the hood.
Our source at the scene advised that Jackson suffered a bloody nose, but no other injuries.
