LAWRENCE CO., Ill.—Sources in rural Lawrence County (outside St. Francisville, in the Billet area) are reporting an incident tonight in which one man has been taken to the hospital and another is being questioned after a beat-down.
According to the information we’ve received from sources close to those involved, a get-together of sorts was being hosted in a rural location in south Lawrence, at the home of Brian Dining. Present was a young daughter of Brian and Melissa Dining. Melissa and Brian are divorced and she is remarried to Jimmy Kasinger, according to our sources.
When the girl, who is being described as about 13 years of age, called her mom to come get her, she indicated that there was some underage drinking going on in the home, and didn’t want to be there. So the Kasingers went to retrieve the girl, and were met by Brian Dining, who was, according to reports, drunk and belligerent. This prompted Kasinger to allegedly open up a can of whoop-ass on Dining.
Billy “PeeWee” Darnell
While Dining was taking his licks, none other than Billy “PeeWee” Darnell, St. F “chief of police,” rolled up on the scene in a semi (his day job; he operates a trucking company of sorts, although it’s been fraught with wrecks and overturns since he started, as he seems to have a brown thumb in everything except being an idiot). Darnell was described as being half-lit…and with a beer in his hand.
Upon seeing the alleged beat-down, he hopped out of his truck, threw the beer can at Kasinger’s car, and proceeded to chase Kasinger down the road on foot. He then returned and called for a county deputy to come to the scene. Deputy Kyle Gilmore responded and reportedly took Kasinger into custody, at least for questioning, and had Dining transported to the hospital in Lawrenceville. Our sources advised that ISP has been called to the scene, and are reportedly intent on questioning PeeWee as regards the damage done to Kasinger’s car…and the fact that he was allegedly drinking and driving. As well, one of his underage punk kids, Tanner, was supposedly at the get-together with a beer in his hand.
That’s as much as we know right now; if we learn more in the morning, we’ll bring it.
