CASEY, Ill.—Of the many criminal investigations of bodies that have been found in and around Casey in Clark County, there’s now been an arrest in at least one of them.
This one came in the form of an announcement that a body had been found in a house fire, on the same day as “skeletal remains” had been found off I-70 running through Clark County. The house fire body got a brief mention in this post, occluded by the skeletal remains found the same day because that was like the third body found over the past year or so in Clark County.
At any rate, authorities arrested Thomas Messina, 19, on a count of First Degree Murder in the death of Gregory Scott Collins. Collins was found in his Casey home after a fire early in the morning of January 15. There’s been no word as to whether authorities believe Collins was murdered and the home set ablaze, but that’s what it’s looking like.
