Deliveries of the February/March 2014 print version of Disclosure are now all complete and on the stands in all locations across the region, and now, it’s time for Print Headlines, which gives you a brief look at the stories offered in this issue, as well as a link via the headline to the article right here at the e-Edition! Each print headline is preceded by a dateline (the area in which the material featured in the article occurred) and followed by a brief synopsis delivered in our own special way; and each section is featured individually….so now, without further ado, we present this month’s PRINT HEADLINES!

PAGE 1

HARRISBURG—City council temporarily restores fire protection to areas outside city limits: The FULL  coverage of the very important meeting wherein the city of Harrisburg has opted to restore—temporarily—fire protection to the area of Harrisburg outside the city limits; it’s apparently been lost on everyone that it was Eric Gregg’s brainfart that took this option away, so don’t forget that, should that scum ever attempt to run for office again within Saline County or anywhere else for that matter.

Fuck you, Chuck.

Fuck you, Chuck.

RICHLAND CO.—First Amendment upheld in publisher’s OP case: The resolution to the frivolous filing by Olney attorney Chuck Roberts that Jack violated the terms of the equally-frivolous OP issued against him two years ago by questionable family members. We win. See how by reading this article. And our sincerest thanks to Judge Robert Hopkins, who graces the front page this issue.

burgin, dee

Dee Burgin. Again.

EDGAR CO.—Did Burgin write election letter? Dee Burgin…in the headlines again…and he sure picks stupid ways to do it. It’s believed that he’s the writer of a letter blasting an Edgar County sheriff’s candidate. But all he did was succeed in drawing attention to himself…and as some in Lawrence County can attest, now, IT’S ON.

LAWRENCE CO.—Deputy charged with felonies in assault: Dennis York, Lawrence County deputy, has been on paid administrative leave since last March when it’s alleged that he injured prosecutor Chris Quick in an incident only Yorkie could have executed. See what his charges are, and how serious they are, in this article.

HARDIN CO.—No arrests after series of harassments of elderly woman; fire being investigated: The situation with Dee Dobbs in the Karber’s Ridge area, and what she’s undergoing—and the lack of support she’s getting from law enforcement and others in charge in Hardin.

BACK PAGE

HAMILTON CO.—Couple charged with luring men to hotel rooms, making them get naked and then robbing them: What the hell a McLeansboro woman has done hooking up with a guy from Missouri is the focus of this investigation into doings in yet another state, Tennessee.

garner, kevin110TH DISTRICT—Many voters cringe at the thought of a violent, bankrupt drunk as state rep: We aren’t the only ones who are wondering why Kevin Garner keeps running for office. In fact, when putting this article together, we inadvertently referenced an article that appeared two years ago, and mistakenly placed the wrong candidate at the end of this piece (Brad Halbrook). In actuality, Garner’s opponents on the Republican ticket are in the form of the very disagreeable Darrell Cox of Coles County, and the awesome Reggie Phillips, who will probably very easily take the nod for 110th District rep. We’ll have more on that as the election approaches; in the meantime, check out this article if for no reason other than the nearly-naked chicks featured on Garner’s “campaign material”…not exactly indicative of a state representative, but entertaining, nevertheless.

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS—Important Primary Election March 18, 2014: The rundown of all contested offices in the coverage area, as well as some of the candidates who aren’t contested in the Primary but will be contested in the November General. This is indeed a very important election, and we’ll be giving background on candidates in the lead-up, so you can be a fully  informed voter; please ensure your friends and family are informed too, by sharing our site with them so they can read about the candidates as well.

PAGE 3

LAWRENCE CO.—Couple jailed after abuse of infant, roommate jailed after sex allegations: Full coverage of the piece we brought to you in brief about the baby in Sumner that was gravely inured…then the baby’s sibling was discovered to have been allegedly sexually abused by a roommate of the parents. It doesn’t get much sicker than this.

RICHLAND CO.—High-traffic drug areas continue to be keep secret: The ongoing “designated areas” of Richland, where parents don’t know to keep their children from because they’re…well…secret designated areas of drug activity. Maybe a new sheriff will bring that under control.

EGYPT

SALINE CO.—County board vice-chair running for sheriff: Danny Gibbs is running for sheriff on the Democrat ticket in Saline. See what he believes he has to offer the citizens of the county in this interview.

Tina Williams and an example of the atrocity that is her spelling skills.

Tina Williams and an example of the atrocity that is her spelling skills.

HARDIN CO.—‘Kill List’ girls square off in parking lot; multiple OPs filed, granted once again: Homely Tina Williams and her frightening daughter Alyse are once again subjects of multiple OPs, and Alyse was sent off to juvie after allegedly beating up her “Kill List” buddy Madison Hirsch, but what’s being done to prevent this kind of atrocity in the future? Our guess: Not much.

SALINE CO.—Suspect claims 4-year-old molested him: In the news biz, just when you think you’ve heard every excuse in the book for why someone allegedly molests a child, along comes something like this…garnering it a top spot in the crim lineup this month.

SALINE CO.—Woman busts car window with knife, goes after the driver: More craziness, this time from West Longley Street in Harrisburg.

GALLATIN CO.—Violence charged in Gallatin: When is there NOT violence charged in Gallatin…?

SALINE CO.—Purloined panties lands one man in the pokey: If you’re going to go to jail….why go to jail over underwear? This question and more posed in this piece.

HARDIN CO.—Computer logs show prosecutor worried about Disclosure accusations: Tara Wallace is wondering HOW on EARTH we continue to know what her weaknesses are…and in this particular article, she’s really getting worked up about it.

SALINE CO.—Police: theft suspects brought their drugs to crime scene: Helpful hint to all crims—if you don’t want busted for dope while you’re stealing law equipment from someone’s house, DON’T BRING YOUR DOPE WITH YOU.

Tamera Williams, Williamson County Sheriff's Department mugshot

WILLIAMSON CO.—Accused murderer in court: Tamara Williams, accused of killing Barbara Beers, has made it back from Tennessee, from which she was extradited, to face her charges here in Illinois.

SALINE CO.—West End Landfill: From being tipped off to, perhaps, closure…but who is responsible? Do you know who would be responsible if West End Landfill should go tits-up and file bankruptcy? I’ll give you a little hint: each and every taxpayer in the county that granted them their permits.

HARDIN CO.—Hardin County’s bad girl gets butt thumped: Martina. Again. Need we say more? At least she’s not bitten anyone’s face off this year.

HARDIN CO.—Order of Protection against missing woman’s sister dismissed: Team Tami prevails in the OP, as Briannah Davis simply refuses to show up for the court date…guess it wasn’t that important after all. In the meantime…no sign of missing Chrissy Williams…and no leads whatsoever.

ELIZABETHTOWN—Hostile trustee has problem with reporting of meetings; votes ‘no’ on almost everything: Sandbags Conkle is the highlight of the E-town meeting…and not in a good way, either.

HARRISBURG—Revolving loan funds payments at issue for Harrisburg City Council: Another Eric Gregg blunder? possibly, as two of five revolving loans in the city have fallen behind on payments.

HARRISBURG—Two-year anniversary of 2012′s Leap Day Tornado, and few answers about grant work: A recap of what’s been going on with the tornado damage grants…and remember…grants are taxpayers’ money.

HEARTLAND

EDGAR CO.—County board member’s weak spine punted in No-Contact Order attempt: Yet another ignorant Edgar County public official has discovered that you can’t take out an OP against a citizen just because they don’t agree with your actions.

Joyce Holdiman, with the pipes growing out of her head.

Joyce Holdiman, with the pipes growing out of her head.

CRAWFORD CO.—Woman convicted in DUI-drugs death sued in civil court: Joyce-too-many-middle-names-Holdiman is going to be sentenced in the DUI death of Walter Scriff soon; but now, she’s also facing a civil battle. Wait til you see what the allegations are.

EDGAR CO.—Attorney General says Open Meetings Act violated by county board chairman: Well, he’s FORMER county board chairman now…but this would be one of the multitude of reasons why.

EDGAR CO.—Audit catches former deputy lying and possibly thieving from voters: Dee Burgin pops up every so many months and makes both the front page AND attendant stories in the Heartland section. Here’s one of the latter.

Craig "Whitey" Fuller

Craig “Whitey” Fuller

CRAWFORD CO.—Repeat offenders top Crawford police blotter: The Crawford County crim report.

CRAWFORD CO.—Alleged arsonist hit with more civil cases: As Craig “Whitey” Fuller’s arson cases slog through the court system, his alleged victims aren’t inclined to wait. Here’s a report of a civil case they’ve filed recently.

hodson, paul

Paul Hodson

CRAWFORD CO.—Divorce filed in case of meth manufacturer: We were wondering what was taking Missus Paul Hodson so long to dump her now-convict-hubby’s ass. She’s finally done it, while he’s sitting in DOC.

CENTRAL

(We’re trying something new for Print Headlines; we’ll be inserting all the jettisoned stories from Central in the “jettisoned” file as we WAY over-wrote for this section, and election and the OP violation story literally took over all our space. Be watching for the jettisoned stories’ links).

RICHLAND CO.—Battle of the sheriff’s candidates busts out at board meeting; development funds questioned: While the key portion of this story is about the two Democrat sheriff candidates verbally slugging it out at a county board meeting, the other crucial point is that a LOT of money is being spent on a development council that really can’t show many returns.

CLAY CO.—Drugs and violence focus of Clay police blotter:  The crim roundup in Clay is an interesting one this month, to say the least.

WHITE CO.—Sexual abuse trial delayed: A White County jailer’s trial is delayed, allegedly because another White County jailer has been running her mouth. Find out what this is all about by reading this piece.

SURLY & UNCOOPERATIVE (Jack): It IS whether you win or lose not how you play the game
ICY (Ang): GOOD NEWS ON DEADLINE; read it and weep!

REDHEAD RAMPAGE (Lyndi): The Leap Day that made time stop for some

VOICE OF THE PEOPLE: Letters to the editor include someone who thinks sex offenders are getting disparate deals due to relatives; opinion on Public Health laws; letter writer from DOC wants an issue in which his letter appears.

BACK OVER YOUR TALES: A rundown of the stories appearing in the February edition of Disclosure in 2009, the first issue in which we used photos, and which really made many people cringe, as now, there were faces to go with the names of some of the most corrupt people in our part of the state.
