EFFINGHAM, Ill. – Illinois State Police (ISP) in District 12 is handling the preliminary investigation of a fiery crash, which occurred this afternoon on I-70 milepost 55 in Fayette County.
A truck tractor semi-trailer eastbound, struck another truck tractor semi-trailer that was disabled on the shoulder of I-70. One tractor/trailer unit was fully engulfed in flames when police arrived. All three occupants of the vehicles were taken to Fayette County Hospital for minor injuries.
District 12 Interim Commander, Lieutenant Cory Ristvedt, stated, “the common courtesy of moving over for all stopped or disabled vehicles should be practiced by motorists, in order to prevent crashes with stationary vehicles.”
