A Scottsdale neighborhood man faces a host of charges after he threw his girlfriend’s glasses out his SUV window, punched her, ran over her leg with his SUV and then fought with police after fleeing the scene Friday, authorities said.
Cory D. York, 34, faces felony charges of aggravated domestic battery, driving on a revoked or suspended license and aggravated battery to a police officer, as well as misdemeanor battery charges and traffic citations in connection to the incident Friday, according to court records. He was ordered held on $100,000 bail Sunday.
York and his 35-year-old girlfriend were driving in his 2002 Ford SUV Friday in the 8600 block of South Pulaski Road, according to court records and Assistant State’s Attorney Rina Infelise.
York and his girlfriend got into an argument and York threw her glasses out of the SUV, Infelise said Sunday.
The two got out and York punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground, according to records. York then ran over her lower right leg with his SUV, according to Infelise.
The woman suffered a severe sprain, swelling and lacerations from the incident, Infelise said.
Witnesses saw York get out of the SUV and try to drag the woman back into the vehicle, Infelise said.
