CARBONDALE, Ill.—Authorities are at this hour towing the vehicle that was used to drop off a gunshot victim at the hospital in Carbondale earlier this evening.
At about 7:35 p.m., a silver SUV pulled up to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale and a black man suffering a gunshot wound exited the vehicle for treatment, this according to police sources in Carbondale. Two other black males in the vehicle then drove away from the hospital with headlights off, apparently trying to escape being detected.
Police found the SUV at Walgreen’s East, located at the corner of Walnut and Wall streets in Carbondale. The vehicle was registered to the man who was shot.
The victim is reported by police as “not giving any information” as to how he came to be wounded.
There’s no word on the whereabouts of the other two in the vehicle…but the vehicle, as of about 8:40, was being towed from the scene for processing.
More if we get it. Keep checking back.
